LC Energy was built in a ridiculous tempo, under high pressure, in an industry as urgent, unpredictable, and existential as renewable energy. With new developments happening every day for one of Holland’s leading energy transition development companies, a rebrand of the company could not come soon enough. We were brought in to help position, redefine, and improve communication for LC Energy in every shape and form.
Following the thorough and redefining rebranding, LC Energy’s overall commercial value skyrocketed to an estimated worth of over 100 million. While this commercial success was of course a direct translation of their immense engineering prowess, the visual identity helped in the translating itself. By positioning LC Energy from a specific to a general energy player, their communication became clearer. Both internally, within their team, and externally to commercial partners. The result is a unique and competitive identity that stands out firmly in a high-stakes industry.
The value we added
The strategy — From the brand positioning research, we concluded that a major shift in focus from solar energy to energy in general was needed. This required a different approach to all the separate elements of the brand, including the overall copy. In addition, the competition analysis showed that the company had a unique chance to present itself as a lighthearted, more eco-friendly, and sensible alternative to the typical tech-heavy, masculine companies that dominate the industry.
The design — The stand-out elements of the design were a direct translation of one of the unique traits of LC Energy: a surprisingly light spirit, despite heavy responsibilities. This airiness became central to the graphics, the copy, and the logo, and was emphasized through the application of multiple transparent layers and photography with bright skies. The light green primary color pushes this light design even further with more uplifting energy.
